VINTAGE DRESSING COMES TO THE PINK DUCHESS

A new new year brings new things and one of the new things at The Pink Duchess is our Vintage Shop located in the back of the boutique.

We are launching the Vintage Shop with spring and summer dresses and accessories.  Most of the items in the Vintage Shop are one of's with the sizes running between 2 and 10.  As we expand this area there will be more sizes, styles, designers and price options.  We have accessorized each look with modern accessories to show how mixing something new with something old can be very chic.

Green and white cotton shirt dress with full skirt and self belt
Designer: Unknown
Size: 4/6 ?  (We aren't quite sure.  We tried it on two different mannequins.  The one in the window pictured above is a size 6 and the dress form is an oddly proportioned size 4.  Our suggestion is come into the store and try it on.)
Price: $100
Year: 50's or 60's ?
How to wear it?
We have paired it with a bright orange Chaiken Clothing tank,a dark brown silver studded Michael Kors belt and on the mannequin we reversed a Gerard Yosca necklace to show the silver underside, pushed up the sleeves and used the self belt as a scarf.  Very modern.
Navy blue cotton voile dress with embroidery.
Designer: R & K Originals
Size: 4/6 ?
Price: $100 SOLD
Year: 50's -60's ?
How to wear it?  This dress is sheer and will look great with a tank top and a pair of leggings.  We've added a dark brown silver studded Michael Kors belt, red Lauren by Ralph Lauren denim jacket and reversed a Gerard Yosca necklace to reveal the silver underside.  By adding these accessories it instantly turns this dress into a modern summer must have.

Navy knit with green and white striping and pleats in the front with a spaghetti thin green belt.
Designer: Unknown
Size: 10 (The tag says 10 but this is a dress from the 60's and the sizing was a little different.  A 1960's size 10 is more like a modern day 6/8.  This is one of our favorite dresses.  Although it's a knit, it is still a good by for summer and can easily transition into early fall.
Price: $100
Year: 1960's
How to wear it?  We tucked the collar in and accessorized it with a green and wood bead Gerard Yosca necklace.
Black rayon blouse with green, red, orange and blue butterflies.
Designer: Franck Olivier
Size: 4/6
Year: 1960's
Price: $50 SOLD
How to wear it?  We layered it with a bright orange Chaiken Clothing tank.  You can also pair it or both pieces with a great black or white pant and a wide belt.  The blouse can easily go from day to evening with the right accessories.
